**ON-SITE POSITION - IN OFFICE -- TEMPE, AZ**
BASIC PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION
The Hardware Engineer will work on technology development projects as well as early-stage commercialization projects. Participates in electromechanical prototyping, component sourcing and integration, validation testing, and documentation. Provide engineering support, research, documentation, integration and validation for the Kubota KTI-NA department and its Research and Development initiatives.
Responsible for realizing system designs into detailed designs including discrete component selection, schematic capture, PCB layout and design, simulation, library and parts creation, verification and documentation. Generates all necessary information for PCB development and production. Applications may include analog, digital, mixed-signal, programmable logic, power, video input, high speed interface, memory and display circuits.
This role involves hands-on testing and evaluation of engineering prototypes, execution of validation plans, documentation of test results, and close collaboration with cross‑functional teams to identify, track, and resolve issues. The engineer will support compliance and certification activities by participating in test planning, recommending and specifying test configurations, and assisting in root‑cause analysis for any non‑compliance findings.
Interfaces with and supports the mechanical design team for integrated enclosure, feature placement, and cable harness design. Interfaces with and supports software development team and provides operational, interface, protocol and usage information for various components.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES: This position does the following in accordance with all applicable Federal, State, and local laws / regulations and the Company’s policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Responsible for delivering hardware projects meeting quality metrics and schedule.
- Work within the hardware project team to contribute to development of electromechanical systems related to machine automation, cloud connectivity, remote monitoring, sensor integration, and machine control.
- Generate block diagrams, protocol documents, interface documents and other information to be used in the detailed design.
- Work individually and within the hardware project team to design new PCBAs from product concept through prototyping and final release.
- Capture and document electronic designs, schematics, net lists, Bill of Materials, PCB layout and Gerber files.
- Capture requirements for Design for Manufacture (DFM) and testability.
- Transfer appropriate files to bare board and assembly vendors and work closely with selected vendors to manage PCB and PCBA builds.
- Manage PCB libraries and participate in component reviews.
- Contribute to test plans and support prototype testing activities, including evaluating development builds and tracking issues, prototype iterations, and design changes.
- Assist with compliance and certification testing by recommending test configurations and addressing issues identified during testing.
- Follow established company design processes for document control and configuration management.
- Manage vendors needed to complete projects.
- Other related duties as assigned by management
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field required.
- At least 1 year experience in electromechanical, agricultural engineering or related technical fields with a focus on embedded electronics and electrical systems design
- Ability to travel up to 10%.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Typical office and lab environment with frequent use of computers and standard lab instrumentation (e.g., oscilloscopes, analyzers, multimeters, power supplies).

Routine hands‑on work with prototypes, embedded hardware, and electromechanical systems in shop or field settings.
- May work on or around agricultural, turf, or construction machinery during testing, evaluation, or support activities; adherence to all safety procedures and PPE requirements is expected.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and handle small components or tools for extended periods.
