Fabrication Quality Inspector
Position Purpose
This position is responsible for the inspection of fabricated components.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities
- Assist Lab Tech with part layout, troubleshooting and support of Receiving/Inspection, Fabrication and Assembly
- Communicate with any fabrication needs and/or quality issues.
- Assist with the repair of quality/ supplier related fabrication defects.
- Inspection of Welds
- Inspection of Weldments
- Inspection of Machined Surfaces
- Assisting with 8D Problem Solving
- Root Cause Analysis
- Issue Quality Alerts
- Provide MRB support to assigned area
- Provide detailed data reports to Quality Technician Supplier
- Additional duties as assigned
Nature & Scope
Reports to the Quality Supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
- Two years of experience in a production or material handling environment
- Blueprint Reading
- Basic problem-solving skills
- Thorough knowledge of mechanical assembly, fab, and paint repairs
Preferred Qualifications
- Associates degree in relevant course work.
- Two years’ experience calibrating tools and reading and interpreting blueprints in a manufacturing environment
- Proven experience at mechanical repairs
- SAP QM module key user/super user experience
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Competencies
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and SAP
- Interpreting blueprints
- Ability to learn and operate hand measuring tools.
- Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and/or electronics
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills
- Detail oriented and self-directed
- Multi-task while maintaining a sense of urgency
- Flexibility with work activities; available for overtime
- Ability to operate full range of JCB equipment or the demonstrated ability to learn
- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment as required

- Must be capable of keeping pace with current production speed.
- Must be able to push/pull with reasonable force.
- Must be able to perform the following requirements of bending, stooping, climbing, kneeling, and standing for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to work in multiple climates including hot/cold temperatures, and dusty environment.
