Position Purpose

This position is responsible for performing all assembly line operations and activities involved in the production of the HMEE.

 

Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities

  • Perform labor operations such as assembling and sub-assembling parts, components and equipment that comprise the HMEE utilizing hand tools and power tools.
  • Ability to operate overhead cranes, manipulators and assembly equipment.
  • Learn standardized processes for all assembly operations.
  • Advise/Recommend processes and procedures to improve safety and quality.
  • Ability to backfill shortfalls in all areas of assembly for HMEE.
  • Apply Problem Solving Tools and Techniques in an effort to assist Assembly in the elimination of defects.
  • Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of equipment.
  • Ensure compliance to company health and safety procedures.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma.
  • One year of experience with assembly.
  • Must pass any drug screens, background checks and pre-employment test as applicable
  • Associate’s Degree in fabrication, manufacturing or related technical field.
  • Experience in heavy equipment assembly.

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Competencies

  • Knowledge of the JCB Production System.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills
  • Detail oriented and self-directed.
  • Multi-task while maintaining a sense of urgency.
  • Flexibility with work schedule and duties including overtime.
  • Ability to operate a forklift, pneumatic or various hand tools and/or heavy equipment or the demonstrated ability to learn.
  • Ability to operate cranes, manipulators and assembly equipment.
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment as required.
  • Conversant with Engineering Drawings.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

  • Must be able to work flexible schedule, including but not limited to 12-hour shifts/7 days a week.
  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10lbs, frequently and/or move up to 35lbs, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50lbs.
  • Must be able to perform continuous, repetitious physical activities.  These activities may involve fine movements or large motions.
  • Must be able to grasp/pinch small items, reach out and up, and turn wrist.
  • Must be capable of keeping pace with current production speed.
  • Must be able to push/pull with reasonable force.
  • Must be able to perform the following requirements of bending, stooping, climbing, kneeling, and standing for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to work in multiple climates including hot/cold temperatures, and dusty environment.
