BASIC PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION 

This role is centered on planning, executing, and supporting comprehensive testing activities for the Kubota innovation department’s technology development and R&D projects. 

 

Key responsibilities include performing system-level functional tests, developing thorough test plans and requirements, defining validation strategies, and conducting internal and customer validation cycles.

 

In addition to testing, the role provides engineering support through design input, prototyping, component sourcing, integration, documentation, and coordination with vendors and research partners.

 

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES:  This position does the following in accordance with all applicable Federal, State, and local laws / regulations and the Company’s policies, procedures, and guidelines.

  • Document test plans, test requirements and create integration proposals for system testing strategies that align with R&D project and business goals.

  • Execute test plans in systematic manner in isolation or within a larger testing team as required by the project.

  • Document testing outcomes and register findings using project approved documentation and tracking tools.

  • Work within a project team to contribute to development of mechanical, electrical, and software systems related to machine automation, cloud connectivity, remote monitoring, sensor integration, and machine control.

  • Collaborate with the project team to plan and perform right-sized testing regimes based on project scope, risk tolerance, and business exposure metrics.

  • Assist in organizing teams and resources to complete test related programs and projects.

  • Gather and track test project requirements and ensure timely completion. 

  • Develop and integrate basic software programs/scripts for prototyping and testing.

  • Create demonstrations/presentations for all levels within the organization.

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation from projects. 

  • Manage vendors needed to complete project assignments.

  • Other responsibilities as assigned by management. 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field required.

  • At least one years’ experience in mechanical, electrical, agricultural engineering or related technical fields with a focus on system testing, verification, and validation.

  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.

 

EQUIPMENT OPERATION (% of time, description, nature of service):

  • Office equipment including computer, copier, phone

  • Prototype agriculture, construction, and turf machinery as required during testing activities

  • Electrical and software diagnostic tools to debug and troubleshoot prototype systems.

  • Walking, standing and sitting while working with shop/power tools and fabrication equipment.
